Our Story – The Origins of VIPLEO Caracats

VIPLEO is the first cattery in the world to specialize in the breeding of officially registered Caracats — one of the rarest and most unique hybrid cat breeds on the planet.

The cattery was founded by Ganna Kuzmina, a pioneer in hybrid feline genetics and the creator of all the innovative breeding programs behind the VIPLEO brand. Thanks to years of hands-on experience, deep expertise, and refined selective methods, she succeeded in developing a stable Caracat line that made its mark in global feline history.

Ganna Kuzmina presents Caracat breed on stage at Zoobonus Fest 2018 - a historic moment introducing one of the first official Caracat presentations in Ukraine.

Our Journey into the World of Exotic Cats.

2010 – The First Steps with Wild Cats

Our journey began in Kyiv, Ukraine, working with wild feline species such as Ocelots, Servals, and Caracals.

2011 – The Founding of VIPLEO

• Official registration of the VIPLEO cattery

• Launch of our first website vipleo.com, which operated until 2024

• In 2022, due to the war, the cattery was partially relocated to Florida, USA, and in 2025, our new platform gannakuzmina.com was launched

2013 – The First Caracal in Our Caracat Breeding Program (XCA)

In 2013, we introduced our first Caracal male into the breeding program — hand-raised from kittenhood specifically for participation in our unique long-term hybridization project aimed at creating a new hybrid breed: the Caracat. His upbringing was part of our broader vision: to produce the world’s rarest hybrid cats — Caracat F1s, with the future goal of reaching Caracat + Caracat pairings up to the fifth generation.

This marked the beginning of our “Caracat F1” program.

As a result of meticulous and targeted work, our cattery became the first in the world to produce officially recognized Caracat F1 kittens from this Caracal male. These kittens, carrying 50% Caracal blood (Caracal father × domestic cat mother), were registered with CITES and TICA, becoming a cornerstone moment in both our program and the global hybrid cat community.

• In the same year, we also launched breeding programs for Savannah and Chausie hybrids.

2017 – Trademark Protection & The F2 Breakthrough

• The VIPLEO™ trademark was officially registered

• We became the first cattery in the world to produce fertile female Caracat F2s (25% Caracal blood)

• Until that moment, only a single F2 male had been born elsewhere, and since male F2s are sterile, it had no value for further breeding

This historic milestone allowed us to begin producing the next generations: F3, F4, and F5.

2018 – Caracat F3: A New Generation

• We became the first in the world to produce Caracat F3 kittens with 12.5% Caracal blood — a crucial leap in hybrid development.

2019 – A Record-Breaking Year

We were the first in the world to produce:

Caracats F1HP (75% Caracal blood) — from a Caracal male and a Caracat F1 female

Caracats F4 (6.2%) — continuing the line of multi-generational hybrids

• Our VIPLEO logo was officially registered as a trademark

2020 – Blue Caracat F4

• A global first: Caracat F4 kittens in a rare blue coat color.

2021 – Fertile F5s & a New Line of F1s

• We produced fertile Caracat F5 males, enabling Caracat × Caracat breeding for the first time

• We also bred Caracat F1 kittens (56.2%) — from a Caracal father and a Caracat F3 mother (12.5%)

• Our VIPLEO emblem was registered as a trademark and is now used on our branded products

2022 – Relocation and a New Era in Hybridization

Due to the war in Ukraine, our cattery was relocated to Florida, where we achieved a new level of success:

Caracat F2 – 26.5% Caracal blood

• The world’s first F2 Caracats bred from a Caracat F1 female and a Caracat F5 male

Caracat F2 White – 26.5% Caracal blood (White coat)

• The world’s first white Caracat F2 kittens, featuring a rare wild type and striking appearance

Caracat F3 – 14% Caracal blood

• A world-first: F3 Caracats bred from two Caracats (F2 × F5) — an achievement never before reached in feline hybrid breeding

Caracat F1 – 51.5% Caracal blood

• A landmark in hybrid genetics: for the first time, a Caracat F5 female successfully gave birth to Caracat F1 kittens sired by a purebred Caracal — proof that our vision, launched in 2013, has come full circle
